Himachal Pradesh ki Mithai are for our taste buds what the Snowy hills of this region are for the eyes- simply a delicious treat.   Let me take you through a mouthwatering sweet journey of some of the unique traditional Mithais of Himachal.

Boondi ki mithai is a must in the Dham thaal and it is unique because unlike traditional desserts this is served first. Every one waits for it because it is simply delicious.
Mittha or Meethe Chawal is a Pahadi treat prepared on special occasions. It is a perfect blend of sweetened rice, dry fruits, raisins and and topped with saffron milk.
Babru is a celebratory sweet and no birthday celebration is considered complete without it.  It is made of aata or wheat flour  mixed with sugar syrup and then deep fried.  
All of us have heard of various dishes made with paneer. here it is used to make a unique traditional Himachal Pradesh ki Mithai which is known as Paneer jalebi. This combines the healthy properties of paneer with the yummy sweetness of a jalebi. 
Dabroo is very popular in the Kangra region of Himachal Pradesh . It is  a sweet similar to pancake made of  wheat , ghee and milk.
Roat is another popular dish during marriages and other auspicious religious functions. This sweet bread  is widely served as  prashaad during poojas.
Akotri is a healthy variation of a cake . It is made from kuttu ka atta and is popular during the festival season.
